Last weekend (Feb 25th) Carrie and I went east for a day of fun in the sun & snow.

and this year we also ran into Cathy (Rivers) and her parents as well!

over the past 20 years that they have been doing Winterfest, it has grown from a small event to something hundreds of people attend, with a large Dog Sled competition, in addition to the more just for fun events everyone else takes part in.

There was breakfast
sleigh rides
log sawing contest
skating

the 2nd biggest event is the curling (with old bleach bottles about half full of ice, not exactly precision "rocks")

Chili contest (3 categories, "best", "original" and "hottest")
then the actual supper
karaoke after eating.

All of this is a fund raiser for the Eton-Rugby community hall to cover costs. (many of my relatives live in the area, which is why I know about it)
